Judge Orders Texas to Move Heat-Sensitive Prisoners out of Prison without Air Conditioning

Greisen Medlock lawyers won an injunction requiring the Texas prison system to move vulnerable inmates from a geriatric prison to air-conditioned locations. After a 9-day hearing, Judge Keith Ellison ordered the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to move elderly and disabled prisoners out of the notorious Pack Unit, where indoor heat indexes regularly exceeded 110 degrees during the summer.
