Inmate Families Sue Over Heat-Related Prison Deaths in Texas Prisons

Greisen Medlock lawyers represented many families whose loved-ones died of heatstroke in Texas prisons that lacked air conditioning. Larry McCollum was imprisoned for passing a bad check, but died of heatstroke just a week into his short sentence. Texas ended up paying McCollum’s family one of the largest settlements in the history of the Texas prison system.
